abraham chin is my high school friend from s.m all saint's kota kinabalu sabah. it was 10 years ago... time flies don't they? abraham chin (aka abs) is like the sweetest guy you can find since high school. nothing really changed much about him. when we arrive, our bed was prepared by the doctor himself! hahahaha with the bantal and the sheets, and the duvet laid tidily on the bed. it was just so sweet!
so why is walton such a significant name here? well, simply because this music store is where they shot one of my favorite all time movie, its called 'Once'. this movie is not a love story, even tho it may look like it. but its really just about a loser guy wanting to pursue his career as a musician. hey, do you realise that all great music comes from ireland? like the corrs, u2, maroon 5, coldplay... urmm.... what else, tons of it to list down!!! i get it, ireland is the perfect place for music inspiration. ireland is truly inspirational!!!! the i for an i ;) (i like) lol
my hidden talent - i write songs. well it's not really hidden anymore, it's just undiscovered for now lol. since i was 13, exactly 10 years ago, i realised that i could write music. it started with my keyboard my mom bought for me, cus i was inspired by A Walk To Remember (yes call me lame, i am JUST A GIRL ya know!) the part where mandy moore play the piano... hehehe yeah that was my favorite scene! Gahhhhh i'm super duper lame-O! i can't read notes, so i play by ears. then i was inspired by my neighbour khairul oneday, cause he sang songs to me with his guitar. that was soon i fell in love with the guitar like love at first sight! my dad bought me a guitar and i have been playing ever since. i love guitar so much now and been writing some really lame love songs with it hehehe
stella artois is from belgium, heineken is from germany and guiness is from ireland. to be honest, i have never drank guinness in my entire life! coming to ireland and having them was my first. it was good :) tho the beer in europe makes my face turn red and it shows the obvious if i am drunk or not... sigh
just because its getting cold doesnt mean winter is here. tho winter is coming soon. but its still very sunny in dublin currently. its like summer but really, its just autumn. and the song called sweet disposition (soundtrack for 500 days of summer) cant seem get out of my head. i sometimes feel like summer. in a weird un-understandable way.
who said doctors are boring? i love talking to doctors. they have a very weird impressive mind that never seem to fail to impress me. when i say this, i really mean all the doctors in the world! well the ones that i have met so far. like as a kid back in kindergarten, our family doctor was so handsome, he looks like superman! hahahah he does he does!!! and we went to see him about 5 years ago, he has gotten so old already but he still looks like superman!!! and he is funny. always joking about something to make us little kids laugh. then some other doctors are funny too. wait mostly, its the male doctors that has this impressive sense of humor. im not sure if everyone feels the same way or it could just be me... but i still find them funny! and i like it :) and abraham's friends are so interesting :)
we went to the guinness storehouse where they show how guinness is made, the history, the major events and you get to pour your own pint of guinness in this 6 storey-high guinness building. when u go visit ireland, this should be on your Top 5 place to visit. i used my student card and it's Euro 11, without is Euro 15. Basically, if u have a student card, you can get away with many discounts! so do more stuff while you're a student :)
ireland trip was fantastic, i am not sure if milan is gonna be just as fun as this. i am going milan to study, but i hope to make some friends whom i can get along with especially when in school. i probably need someone to practice italian with me. my friends luciano and samuele is from italy, i met them during motorgp in kuala lumpur and i will be seing them when i arrive milan. they live not far from milan. can't wait to see them again :) sam will be showing me around when i'm there, so yay!!! :)
so guinness storehouse gives you certificate for completing a task. the task was pouring your own perfect pint of guinness. it was very educational. i never knew there was a way to pour your beer/guinness hehehe but now i know ;)
this is a very sad place... if you look up to kilmainham gaol in google, its not a sweet story. back in the old days, the people in ireland was in starvation and hundred died from it. people would do a crime that could bring them into prison because there are meals provided 3 times daily to prisoners. this prison can has 120 cell, and each cell fits 2 person. once they had more than 2000 prisoners and it was just out of control. the system just didn't work anymore. soon, the prisoners were moved to australia, and australia was a place to put prisoners...
there was a really sad love story happen here, i dont really remember how the entire story goes but i remember it was something like... this man who is involve with the rebellion 1915 was to be executed. and the last thing he did before he died was to marry his fiancé. there were many innocent man were executed for standing for their country.... it was such a sad story :( it would be interesting to hear stories about our fellow malaysian soldiers and ppl who were in war to stand for malaysia back in the old days...
this is the humble house of the dublin malaysian boys! hahaaha so i cooked carbonara for dinner for everyone. sedap i think i wanna try this shrimp thingy, a recipe from jamie oliver, it looks so sedap. hehehe
miss you abs!
at st. stephens green park, its the largest park in dublin apparently. and it was beautiful. best for dating dating hehehe...
feeling the swans, they are really friendly and well behave!
look at how graceful they are, so sweet and friendly, not like the ones here in london (so rough and aggresive!)
i was in dublin for 8 days and i have basically covered the entire part, sides and corners of dublin. i have seen it all, me think so... and i have memorized the route where to go and what not. its so sad to leave dublin when i already feel so comfortable being there. thinking of working in dublin in the future... who knows...
i love dublin. i really love dublin. abraham said, we should bring all our sabahan friends and make them work and live in dublin. hell yeh!!!! basically, dublin is a nice homely city just like kota kinabalu. so for me, dublin is really the european version of kota kinabalu. therefore, ireland is like sabah. its well balance with life, work and fun. you get nice beaches, sceneries, friendly people, very cultured and helpful. i just enjoyed dublin very much. at the moment, the best trip just yet :)
thank you abraham for hosting us and also thanks to you know who. Aight :) I'll be in Milan in 2 weeks time from now. So.... *taking a deep breath* that's just about my final trip... then HOME i will be :)
loads of hugs and kisses,
stella matilda
