Getting Ready for China...

I'm going to China on the 9th - 28th August 2009 for the world finals of Miss Tourism Queen International 2009. I will be representing BORNEO, to promote Sabah and Sarawak. How do I feel about this?

SCARED! Who doesn't? I'm scared but I'm calm and focus. I will do all the best with all my heart. I got everything arranged already for the evening gown by my favorite local designer (pssst its a secret), traditional costume which is the Kadazan Dusun costume (still waiting for them to call back) bikinis and 1 piece swim wear, dresses except for my heels. I don't have white and silver heels with me, so will need to go hunting this weekend.

Right now, I'm staying focus on my studies because as soon as I return my exam week will start in the next 4 days. I obviously will bring my notes with me to China to read. I have also been looking up at Sarawak Tourism website to know more about them, and Sabah... well that's my homey and I know everything about my homey in my heart.

I really don't know what to expect when i'm there, but I hope to make a lot of new friends and hopefully my presence will leave an unforgetable message about my beautiful home BORNEO in their lovely heart.

My profile was just added to the website, and you all can start voting for me.

Vote for BORNEO everyone. It may cost a little, minimum of USD$3 (less than RM10 only...) for 10 votes, but if everyone vote, it can make a big difference.

Please spread the news. Support BORNEO. A million thank you for your support.

All the best to me... and my Sabah model good friend Miss Cassandra Patrick (hahah SURPRISE! She will be representing Malaysia =) at least ada teman jugak go China, can share hair blower LOL)

Thank you to ERM World, MY Production and Tourism Board for having faith in us. We will do the best of the best with all of our heart.

Love, Stella Matilda

Your Hair is Your Kingdom

There are reasons why hair dressing saloons were ever created into this world that is to serve our hair needs. Some of us may DIY your own hair such as colour, cut, blow dry, curling, straightening, masking and so much more. But most of us are usually too busy to even find time to maintain our own hair, and ended up with frizzy, split ends and faded colour. Like mine =( Unlike my mom when she was still working, she goes to the saloon almost every 2 days for a nice curl blow dry and looking all beautiful for work.

If you're planning to do yourself a hair makeover too, i would like to recomend this hairdressing saloon to you. They are not only professional, but also a first class service to you. They make sure everything is fine with you and also make sure you are satisfied with the result. So here's my story of my visit to a saloon... or isit just a saloon?

>>>>>
I decided to do a makeover, it has been AGES since i go to the saloon to do a proper entire package makeover. I didn't know where to go, so my friend suggested Shunji Matsuo at Mid Valley. Apparently, the owner of this saloon belongs to a seriously famous and professional Japanese Celebrity Hairstylist, so you can expect the best of the best from this place as all the hairstylist that are working there are professionals and they won alot of awards.

So entering this place for the first time, love the cozy outlook of this place. Oh look! They even got their own magazine shelf which filled with the latest magazines. I'm gonna grab some to read while making my hair then =)

Alright, my scalp feels abit tingling itching feeling, that's because of the chemical dye colour which had applied, it was alright after 10 minutes. They wrap my hair over with the um... what's it called? Transparent looking sticky plastic thingy... ahh i give up...

After about 20-30 minutes, they washed my hair. Ohh it was the best wash ever! They gave me a head message which really helps stimulate the blood movement over my head, and i felt soooooo relax the entire day. After they washed it throughly, they applied my hair some treatment by Alfaparf Milano that will help boosting and maintain the colour on my hair and also to make my hair softer and shinnier. It smells really good too.

Behind me is Money Wong, she's so profesional i tell ya!

I also asked to trim my hair a little and give me a nice natural blow dry waves. I don't believe in blow drying, i like it natural, but its in the package that im paying for so im just gonna go with it =)

WA-LA! So I dye my entire hair a new colour. It's a very soft chocolate looking brown (i forgot the colour name) by Loreal. I just needed a natural colour because I don't want to look too crazy or bimbo-ish. Apparently, when Money was applying the dye over my hair, she said my hair colour was really uneven, so i admitted to her that i was being naughty and DIY using leftovers of my boyfriend's hair dye hehehe...that's what happened when you DIY =(

I really love my new hair colour very very much, I feel alot more confident and alot HOTTER hahahaha :P thank you Money, you did such a perfect job on my hair I will definitely see you soon again for my next hair do!

My overall makeover cost me around RM450 which include of Colour by Loreal RM250 (my hair is really long so yeah...) treatment by Alfaparf RM185. Now, my hair is so shinny, soft and manageable. So happy =) It's really worth it! Not like some saloon you pay a bomb and u ended regreting u did. But this saloon... Ohhhh i tell you, you can only expect the best from this saloon.

Here's the location: Shunji Matsuo (hair studio)
13G The Boulevard, Mid Valley City, Lingkaran Syed Putra.
You can call Money Wong at 016-2924850 to make a date with her, she's really good. Don't forget to say you were recomended by me, you could get discounts =)

Does he need a make over too? LOL I made his hair!

lets end this with a kiss ;)

Have a great HAIR DAY everyone =) and if you don't you can always call me or call Money to help you.

Land of the Lost

When watching a movie with Will Ferrell as Dr. Rick Marshall in it, you're bound to be surprise with unexpected laughs especially with Danny McBride as Will (also in Pineapple Express) they both can make anything look dumb and funny.

This is one of the funniest and weirdest movie I have seen this year so far. The weirdest I thought was Knowning and Indiana Jones because it ended with some weird alien in it that did not make sense at all. I had a great laugh watching this movie tonight with my boyfriend. I have to warn you, this is a high frequency of laughing out loud! =)

Holly: Oh my, you need a shave young man!

so weird...

Enjoy~

FHM Night Out with Jack Daniels @ Envie Club

The handsome cool Tim Chew and me (Chili Padi Incoming Girl 3 years ago) @ Envie Club

First of all, I want to say thank you to Tim for arranging my guest list for last night. Thanks a million. I had a blast, it has been almost 2 months since i last club. I don't really club that often unless i got my close friends around, so that i got dancing partner hehehe =P I brought Weena Marcus along, one of my really close Sabah model girlfriend and Sunshine the bright shinning sun (also my P.I.C hehe...)

Made some new friends. Finally i meet Andy Kho, the most famous talented photographer. He's like the best ever. Vivian (FHM Girl Next Door) keep telling me how good he is, and it did not take long for me to believe it. He showed me some of his work and i'm really seriously impressed the way he shoot and he captures great pictures. Guess what? He is also from little East Malaysia. His hometown is Kuching.

Me and Weena

Simon (editor of FHM) sits on Ben so he can get close to the girls hehehe u rock Simon!

with dearest Simon, the editor of FHM Malaysia, he was working for FHM UK before this and now station in Malaysia. Was asking him what's the difference between FHM UK and Malaysia, and of course the answer is simple... Nothing except for the pictures. So true... We can't wear too revealing for FHM Malaysia, but i think recently the rules has loosen up as LUST Magazine (which features hot sexy models in high end lingerie brand) is approved in Malaysia! So... you will be seeing more of these hot juicy pictures in stores soon....... boys, play nice!

Simple Guidelines To Be A Model

Everyone wants to be a model because it sounds sexy and glamourous. However, I have to be brutally honest that the competition out there its more likely to break you than to make you. It's hard to get started, its even harder to maintain a reputation, however, its so easy to make you fall hard on your ass. If you are brave and have the strength as well as patience, then you are one step there.

The Hurtful Facts: If you're not pan-asian or caucasion, you have to work harder and 10x more, and some people like Amber Chia took almost 4-5 years to get where she is now. The modeling line is so stereotype that we just have to get used to it after a while. If you're short, you will only end up in magazines, TVC and events. If you're tall, you might end up in runway shows and magazines. If you're not too pretty, but still want to try, there will be possibilities because different clients has different taste, so don't give up just yet.

Your Profile: Never ever include your IC number or your full house address. You never know who you are sending your profile to or who it will be forwarded to after that. A very very very common mistake I've seen in the some of the profile I have received from you all. Only include what is relevant for the assignment. Be truthful about your personal details.

Your Photos: The agencies and clients are not interested to see pictures of you with your friends, or a picture of you and your cat (but i like your cat hehehe) I'm serious about this. I started off not having any profesional photos myself and was clueless until I learnt from my agency. To get started with your profile, you need 3 basic photos of yourself (just you alone). An upclose photo of your face (please put on some light make-up at least), so they can have a simple idea of how you look like. Then, a half body photo (sit or stand) and a full length body of you standing. The photos is best taken behind a plain background; white is perfect. Create the picture that brings the best in you. If you need professional photographers to get some photos done, email to me and i will recomend to you.

Your experience: When I first started, I only got experience in tv and short film production. My first job was a fashion tv program and that's when i first meet Justin Yap, he was as fresh as I was ( he's a famous local designer that made it internationally now) If you don't have any experience, just be honest about it. Everyone started off as a beginner.

Your looks: Technically, ANYONE CAN BE A MODEL. If your skin is clear and smooth, you can be a model for beauty products. If you have hips and some amount fleshy breast, you can be a lingerie model. If you are tall, you can be runway model and the list goes on.

In the high fashion countries like London, Milan, Paris, New York and a lot more, skinny and thin models are officially banned from modeling since 2006 due to stereotyped models passed away from eating disorders and other related sickness. The fashion industry then pointed out that they prefer models that got curves to flaunt their dresses on the runway and photographs. Giorgio Armani actually asked Victoria Beckham to put on some weight and go to the gym because she was way too skinny and her skin is all wrinkly and sagging. Its a photoshoot assignment for the fairy-tale couple (Posh and David) shoot for the latest lingerie collection by Armani in conjunction of their 10th years of marriage. She finally put on some weight, and she looks so much better today. Listen to Giorgio Armani, you can never go wrong... Skin and bones so NOT gorgeous. Even Tyra Banks thinks so too and Vogue magazine also not hiring thin skinny models.

Your Appointment: Be punctual for your interview, audition, your show and shoot. The earlier the better as it shows that you are responsible and you respect them. When you're late you will create problem and frustration, and the word will spread through models, agencies, organizers and designers. Then, no one wants to work with you. DO NOT last minute cancel yourself from a job, if you do, i assure you in no time you will be blacklisted. If you HAVE TO cancel an assignment, do it at least 24 hours notice. The earlier, the better if you're sure.

When you are at an interview, be polite at all times. Remember to use the word please, may I, I would love to, and thank you. Keep yourself organized, such as your looks and your dressing.

Criticsm: Modeling is a cruel world, and it feels like in school where you get bulied and people calling you names. It's the same in this industry. They would call you fat pig (when you're obviously sexy and healthy) or ugly like shit (when clearly you have your own unique beauty). Take it as a challenge.

You should never be discourage by all the negatives comments and rejections. Even top models still get rejected for assignments. As what I would say, Calm Seas Don't Make Skillful Sailor ;)

(additional)
Gossipers: Don't be one of them. Do not make up stories about other people and tell a dirty lie to tarnish their reputation. You know what I mean??? What comes around goes around.

Do becareful who you gossip to, they might be my VERY CLOSE FRIENDS, don't be such a dickhead! (this refer to a gossiper who talked trashed about me, his dirty mouth is filled with dirty lies i tell ya! and guess what, i don't even know who this guy is lol! filthy dirty smelly mouth he has! he needs Fisherman's Friend!!! any of his friends can pass it to him, pretty please?)

Before I go take a shower and get some rest then wake up to get ready for an event tonight, I hope no one was offended from what I said, if i did, I would like to apoligize first. I hope this would help a little.

Your profile should include your name, nickname, date of birth, age, address, telephone number, hobbies, height, weight, vital status, eye colour, hair colour, hair lenght, shoe size, top size, bottom size, dress size and your experience (if any) along with your photographs. Professional photographs gives better chances to get notice or at least for an interview. Create a comcard to make life easier too =)

Good luck and all the best to the new comers girls to be models. You may email me your profile after that for upcoming assignments. My email: paristelle@gmail.com ( i should really get a new email address... LOL)

Ok, i'm dead tired now, still got alot of work yet to be done. Take care now and God Bless.

Love ya'll

10 minutes in Forever21

Here's something so random, i went to One Utama today to meet my sister after my appointment with my agency. I can't resist myself from walking into Forever21.... picked up some that attracted my eyes and quickly tried it on.

So what's so cool about this first picture? Ok,its flowery and in fact abit too flowery that it looks like a granny's kitchen table cloth...

The thing about vintage dress is that, it looks better if it was plain colour. A designer would say so.

This third picture, is a tube dress and i love this one because it's made by chiffon. It's easy to maintain. It's soft and as u walk, the fabric dances with your legs. The flowery prints are beautiful. Not over cluttered, it's just nice. Price RM139, super great investments!

This purple almost transparent 2 in 1 can be worn as a top or a dress. This is almost identical to one of the picture i saw in Myownrunway.com I like this because it has the kinda sexy casual look, but i suppose this is more suitable if i was at the beach... ahhh kk homey =(

What's Hot To Shop!

A Little Inspiration Specially for Fashionistas like YOURSELF and MYSELF baby! Muaks!

Here are some latest fashion trends and colours that I fell in love with. You can always do the "Steal-The-Style" look, that's what most smart fashionista would do. You don't have to purchase the item for a thousand bucks when you can grab it at your local boutiques for a cheaper price that just turns out perfectly gorgeous on you! Forget Prada(but not Versace and Armani pls!), at my age now, I only talk Forever21, Bangsar boutiques hehe oh and Top Shop, MNG, but not so much of Zara, i find Zara's clothing abit low quality, but loving their Zara HEELS! =)

Thanks to My Own Runway and Fashion Week Daily for sharing. Now let us start our inspiration... and then STEAL the STYLE =)

Every girl needs a nice floral maxi dress for day or evening wear. It makes us girls looks so beautifully stunning and adorably cute! Well, this design by Versace halter v-cut is a little bit too revealing, perhaps we could find something similarly less of showing our cleavage.

Stella McCartney (http://www.fashionweekdaily.com/)
One great thing about Stella McCartney is that she always surprise me with her latest collection, every single time! I'm so in love with this sexy off shoulder looking dress in natural nude colour. Its great for an evening night out with girlfriends as well as a party dinner, or why not even with a date! Totally love this piece!

Chanel (http://www.myownrunway.com/)
I like the idea of showing, but not really. This almost transparent dress is breath taking. I was practically losing my breath when i first saw this dress. Ah, so gorgeous! Isn't this a TEASE boys? Hehe...

Gucci (http://www.myownrunway.com/)
Mysterious, sexy and smart! A simple black jacket and a skinny jeans goes a long way. Simply match a nice looking top inside with your black jacket over it will do the trick. High heels is a must to get this look. Absolutely glamourous!

Barbie 50th Anniversary (http://www.myownrunway.com/)
I don't mind being all dolled up everyday in this dress! The latest Barbie collection is sure filled with every colours from the rainbow. This sweet knitted piece is my favorite! I love the short length of this dress as it is short enough to give a sexy statement. Yummy!

Shop smart my darlings...

Work vs Passion

I have to admit, to do something you don't like is definitely harder than to do the things that you like, duuhh... If you happen to be doing something you don't like, well that's just life. Life sucks, so go do something about it to make it better. But if they pay you well, then why complain right?

I know a lot of people are torn between working for money and working for passion. I got to tell you, it isn’t an easy decision... I'm sure you all who are in the working rat race know that very well...

My first job was working at a bubble tea cafe outside my house at Kingfisher Park, KK. I’m only earning RM1.50 PER HOUR!!! So i work for 5-6 hours a day during the school holidays. It was TOUGH! I SWEAR! Earning your own money isn't as easy as asking money from your parents and I don't even need to prove that for goodness sake LOL... geee mommy i want some money... next day dapat duit in the bank hahaha

At the end of the month, i get my pay from the cafe, it was only RM60.50... Hmm... of course back then RM60.50 seem really big, i was only 13... awww.... I quit after school reopened. Occasionally, my dad pays me RM5 for washing his car. I was a Car Washer (if that's what it’s called) since i was 10 years old. So you need someone to wash your car, i'm still a car washer hahaha jk =P

As i was growing up, i learnt that money don't come easy. I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth, but however, i can never forget that my parents still provides me with a lot of things since i was born until today... those little soft Rabbit toy from Milimewa my dad bought for me during Christmas which cost RM7.90, my first Barbie doll which isn't really by the Barbie brand and it only cost RM10.90 from some kedai runcit, and they gave me money to buy my monthly Sailormoon comic book.... sniff sniff... it cost Rm5.70....

For the past four years of living in KL has definitely changed me to be a stronger person. I first worked in Concord Hotel as a waitress; yes it was a horrific job ever! Then soon, I decided to try something else. After my 2 year boyfriend DUMPED me, my self-esteem kinda turun, then my friends told me i am way better than that. So i thought.... hmmm what should i do with my life? LOL

I was browsing through the Internet and found a site, a short film casting! So i went for it! The director called, but only to found out the main role was taken up already, only left the extra talent. I really couldn't be bother about that extra role, but the director insists, and begged me... And I’m glad he did =) because of him, i have meet my 4 years boyfriend.

From the short film, i learnt about other stuff too from the website. I learnt about modeling. Yes... this is where it all started. I read about modeling and decided to give it a try. I was clueless. I don't know anything about make-up and i don't know anything about fashion! One fine day, i was walking at KLCC with my room mates and i was approached by a modeling agency. At that very moment, i thought to myself... wow is God really watching what has been happening with my crazy life down here? And here HE is, giving me a chance to make and do something useful and meaningful with me life... i get it dear God, i get it...

So the agency made an appointment to meet me and arranged for a modeling and grooming lesson which lasted for nearly 3 months. I swear i got a lot of GROOMING to do hehehehe and from there I grew to be a more confident person, and i knew how to wear make-up finally! LOL!

Since i left the agency, I have the knowledge and ability to make something happen with my life. I joined pageants, of course the first time didn't win anything, then the second pageant I was honored with 3rd placing for Miss Malaysia Earth 2007, i was shocked! Then magazine interviews, photo shoots and commercial ads and endorsements, it all seems to be happening. My life is definitely changing. I love it.

I found out that I actually enjoy what I'm doing, and it’s becoming a PASSION. All those fashion shows, photo shoots, production shoots, commercial ads, special events, interviews, meeting new groups of friends and to stay beautiful DOES NOT feel like work anymore, because I love doing what I'm doing. Of course modeling career doesn't seem to last forever, therefore i am just making the best of my youth while I’m still able to =)

And i think you should do the same....

"If you enjoy what you're doing,

don't call it a Job, call it... Passion"

Take Care and God Bless

Love ya'll!

Lets Get Emo... You should love this song too =)

Inevitable by Anberlin

Do you remember when we were just kids
And cardboard boxes took us miles from what we would miss
Schoolyard conversations taken to heart
And laughter took the place of everything we knew we were not

I wanna break every clock
The hands of time could never move again
We could stay in this moment (stay in this moment)
For the rest of our lives
Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you'll ever have
I wanna be your last, first kiss

Amazing how life turns out the way that it does
We end up hurting the worst, the only ones we really love

I wanna break every clock
The hands of time could never move again
We could stay in this moment (stay in this moment)
For the rest of our lives
Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you'll ever have
I wanna be your last, first kiss

Is it over now hey, hey, is it over now
Is it over how hey, hey, it's not over now

I wanna be your last, first kiss
That you'll ever have (that you'll ever have)
I wanna be your last, first love (that you'll ever have)
Till you're lying here beside me with arms and eyes open wide
I wanna be your last, first kiss for all time

My Natural Curl, I Got it From My MaMa!

When i wake up in the morning, my sugar glider will be starring at my ugly morning face. I can imagine him calling me "stinky! mommy!" Then i rush to the toilet to have my morning pee and berak (prayed hard for that), then i'll walk back to my room and grab my bath towel and take my morning shower.

I wash my hair every 2-3 days, but my bf only washes his hair when he needed too (so u know if i start stratching my hair its becos my bf's hair got fleas hehe

Then after all my morning shower ritual is done, i'll put on my morning make up while listening to my playlist title "Make-Up Rock" songs from my mobile phone (which got songs that makes me dance!) I'll put on the curler clips thingy (not sure whats it called) and leave it on for until i'm done with my make up.

I so love my natural curls, its so sexy! I don't like going to the saloon doing straightening or curl using those metalic machine, it spoils our hair actually, best is leave it natural unless u got a photoshoot or a show or function to go to, oh yes blow dry is also evil, in the long run your hair will easily get split ends.

My natural thick hair waves gens are from my Mom, i've learn to love it!

So yeah, oh have u notice my light brown-ish hair. I actually use the sisa baki of hair dye from my boyfriend's hair dye color, cos few weeks ago i was helping him to dye his hair, and there were alot more left (guys hair are so little anyways, unless rock star la, panjang rambut kan?) so i guna jer letak on my hair, comes out really nice. Nice fine brown-ish hair, i like it very much.

Have a nice weekend! I hate class...

Take care~ Love ya'll

I was modeling and also sort of spoke person for Paradigmshift (Paragon) Philosophy of Carpets, we explain the products and make contacts with those who were interested, best contacts were by government agencies (that's where the money comes...big money!)
