The Engagement Post

The strangest part of life is wondering how one person can change your entire life. This day prove that love still conquers it all. Well in my life at least. Here's the engagement post.

Planning Stage:
At first, we wanted to organize the engagement party at my parents house then we decided to have it outside because of unpredictable weather in KK and the cleaning up. Therefore, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu was the first thing that come to my mind. There are just so many memories of me growing up there, especially in the local pub called Shenanigans. It's like my second home in KK.

Decoration and Setting:
Hyatt Regency Kinabalu has been really kind and helpful to me. Initially, the plan was to have the party by their newly renovated pool side area which was really beautiful during the sunset. Unfortunately, it rain the whole afternoon towards the evening and the hotel was very efficient and set for plan B, which was the main ballroom of their hotel. But because I only have less than 100 guest, they divided the ballroom to make it look nicer.

The decorations is Balinese and the contrast colour I choose was Aquamarine. Well, it's all about love. So it has to be soft and lovey dovey. Hyatt decorated the room filled with beautiful white flowers at every corner of the room, Aquamarine chiffon wrapped around the chairs and a touch of bright blue lightings.

The Service and Food:
We were going for something English and mix of Asian, so Hyatt planned out our menu selection and it was finger licking good. Hyatt has always been famous for their food. Even non in house guest comes to Hyatt on a daily basis for their food. Not to mention, their service is top class, it always has been. That's also another reason why everyone loves to go back there. You can check out our engagement party menu on this link http://jamesandstellawedding.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/menu-of-night.html I specially request for Creme Brulee as it was my favourite and I am pretty sure I had almost 5 of them on that night hehe!

Family and Friends:
Since this is just the engagement party, we sorta limit our guest list by inviting some close friends and family for a start. So we invited all my cousins with cute baby bumps, my aunts and uncles, my ex-classmates and some friends. Everyone look so pretty on that night and even the little children were all dressed up for the occasion looking like an angel.

The Budget:
So budget is always the main issue in all occasion. Even in my case, there was a lot of cost cutting involved. That is why this party is just a simple but one of the happiest day of my life to share the good news of our engagement. Even with a tight budget and not getting what I wanted, I sorta make use of whatever I have instead of complaining. Just having James by my side was everything I will ever want in my life.

I have to thank my Dad for doing such a wonderful job on snapping these wonderful photographs. I already miss you guys. Thank you for everything to all my friends and family. Thank you Hyatt for taking good care of my guest.

We are excited and can't wait to start planning for the wedding next year when I'm back from my long vacation. However it may turned out to be, as long as we're together, everything will get better :)

Love Always.

Leaving Kuala Lumpur
Well, leaving this big crazy city with an increase of crimes everyday was not that difficult at all. Even though it was quite a confusing moment for me as part of me want to stay and another part of me want to go. I guess mostly to stay because of my job whereas to go because I want to be with my fiancée.

Objective of coming to UK
I want to be a superstaaaaaa!!!! LOL no i'm just kidding. I decided to come to UK with James because I think it's best for me to get a little taste of where he come from, since he knows everything about me already, it's only fair for me to know more about him. This trip will help us decide where we want to live together after the wedding next year in KK. I come into UK only with my passport as visitor which allows me to stay for 180 days.

Arriving the UK
It was a 12 hour and 30 minutes flight with Malaysia Airlines. Thank you to James parents for helping out with my flight ticket and for my mom sorting out my Travel Insurance. I had no problem with immigration so it was quick to pass through (never had any troubles with immigration, i have good records) As at today, it has been almost one week and I think I am still having jetlag. I still wake up by 6am or 7am and sleep by 8pm or 9pm. Come to think of it, it's seem quite alright since I pretty much wake up that same time in KL for work.

James' Family & Home
Very friendly, funny, super talented in the kitchen and very kind people. I love how family oriented they are too. I always love family like these. They have a huge big ass house, like a mansion. Super spacious garden and backyard, and best for cook out barbeque!

Bristol City
I think I have mentioned this before on my Facebook. Bristol is like Kota Kinabalu. A small but developing city, people are very friendly to each other and i guess its almost like everyone knows each other too. The famous Suspension Bridge is just 5 minutes drive from James' home which leads to the city center. You can visit this website for more info about this bridge athttp://www.cliftonbridge.org.uk/ It is so beautiful.

I have yet to do a proper tourist activity in Bristol, still waiting for the right time for it. James is now in the mist of getting a job and hope all goes well. Whereas for me, I might volunteer at this nearby animal shelter or something like that. We see how.

Till next time, at the meantime, if you want to see more picture, feel free to view it on my Facebook photo album. Feel free to leave a comment or pm on my Facebook too. I'd love to hear from you :)

Love Always.

Sneak Peak to the Engagement

Hi guys,

Our Engagement dinner party was a success and we are very happy to celebrate this special day with all our family and friends in Kota Kinabalu. Hyatt Regency Kinabalu did a perfect job on the decorations, food and providing top class services to us. We also received awesome surprise gifts and ang pau from our family and friends. So much more I want to share with you about our short trip back to Kota Kinabalu for the engagement, but I am just way too exhausted right now. We were only there for 3 days and now we are back in Kuala Lumpur.

We will be flying to London on the 23 July 2012.

Stay tuned for my next post. I will be sharing more stories about the engagement.

JOHNNIE WALKER® GOLD LABEL RESERVE

Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve
750ml / 40%
Blended Scotch Whisky

I have just received my complimentary Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve and I have just took a few glasses with my fiancée. It tasted as awesome as I remembered. The first time I tasted this amazing whisky is during the Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge 2012 recently with my fabulous friends from Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers.

Blog Post for Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge 2012 can be view at this link http://aplacetowriteaboutmylife.blogspot.com/2012/03/jw-black-circuit-lounge-f1-party-2012.html

JOHNNIE WALKER, GOLD LABEL RESERVE
ELEGANT AND SMOOTH

Nose:
Honeyed oats, malty with creamy vanilla, toffee popcorn and a touch of gingerbread. A herby note punches through. Really pleasant.

Palate:
Sweet, smooth caramel fudge. Butterscotch. Quite waxy with honey and vanilla coming in waves.

Finish: Touch of smokiness.

Overall: A really well balanced blend from the House of Johnnie Walker. Something to crack open with friends on a summer’s evening and pass around whilst the sun goes down. It’s very moreish and great value for forty quid. Good stuff.

Checkout this amazing Commercial made by Johnnie Walker:

Producer's Notes:

The variant is a multi-layered blend of sweet fruits and creaminess that evokes deeper honey tones, before finishing in lingering waves of wood and light west-coast smoke.

Estimate Price: RM450 - RM600

Once again, Thank You Johnnie Walker Malaysia for selecting me from the one and only Malaysia's Hottest Bloggers for this amazing opportunity and experience. More to come! :)
